Student Development Programmes
The students of Class X and the biology students of Class XII visited the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi on July 23, 2009. They were taken to various laboratories where they viewed micro-organisms and saw a bio-fertilizer plant. They were also shown modern equipment used in the laboratories where research was being carried out to create improved varieties of crops.
The students of class VIII made a visit to the National Science Centre, Pragati Maidan on July 29, 2009. They were exposed to a number scientific models, exhibits and interesting artifacts on display.
On July 20, 2009 the students of Class XI gave a presentation on “ Solar Eclipses”. Their presentation dealt with the creation of a solar eclipse, types of eclipses and gave the audience information about the impending solar eclipse to be visualized the next day.
On July 24,2009 the students of class XII gave a presentation to spread awareness about the “ Swine Flu” pandemic which is fast spreading and dangerous. The presentation highlighted the cause, symptoms, precautions, diagnosis and cure relating to the disease.
The Old Student Association met for a get-together on July 11, 2009 in the school. The students discussed ways to make this nascent body more active and become constructive partners in the functioning of the school. The Principal addressed the students and informed them of the advancements that have taken place in school over time. Representatives were selected from different batches for faster dissemination of information. The function ended with high tea and a vote of thanks. On the popular request of the students the teachers who had retired from the school were also invited to attend the meet.
