New Delhi, August 13, 2014: A ten-day ‘Self Defence’ workshop was organised from August 5 to August 13, 2014 by the Delhi Police for the girl students of classes IX to XI in the school premises. The purpose of the workshop was to train students with the martial art skills to face any mishap or violence with confidence. The students were taught various ways to protect themselves in buses, closed streets, roads and metro stations. After every class, a question-answer session was held wherein the students discussed their queries, shared their experiences and boosted each other’s confidence. All the students were also awarded certificates by the Delhi Police. It was a good experience for the girls and they all enjoyed and learned to be independent and fearless. This training equipped the girl students to handle any eventuality in future.
