New Delhi, Oct. 9, 2015: Peace Day was observed to promote the significance of a peaceful co-existence wherein peace prayers were recited by students from the religious scriptures of diverse religions of India. Students presented speeches by famous personalities who had endeavoured towards a peaceful future. A self-composed poetry ‘Vishwa Shanti Gaan’ was also recited by a group of students. The chief guest, Ms. Radha Bhatt, a devout Gandhian truly inspired the young audience with her didactic discourse on peace.
As an extension of the Peace Day celebrations, students of Apeejay School, Saket made thousand origami paper cranes (an international symbol of peace) in two days which were despatched to Sidoukou’s Monument, also known as the Peace Monument at Hiroshima, Japan as a symbol of peace and friendship.
