Flair Forte: Talent Show
New Delhi, June 30, 2020: Apeejay School, Saket, hosted an Open Evening Talent Show on 30th June 2020. The amazing evening unfolded with a special guest performer, Shri Arun Kumar Sharma from the Benaras gharana. The audience especially enjoyed a percussion demonstration on the tabla and the flute. A string of parent performances won huge applause and appreciation. Each was unique, beautiful, and wonderful in its way.
New Delhi, June 6, 2020: What children need the most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humour, and warmth. The School believes that grandparents are a family's greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy. To honour and thank the beloved grandparents, Apeejay School, Saket, celebrated a special day 'Salute to our Roots' for the grandparents of classes Nursery to V on June 6, 2020, via Zoom Cloud Meetings. The session began with a welcome address by the Pre-Primary In-charge, Ms Minakshi Juneja. The atmosphere was full of excitement & interesting games, music, followed by creative craft was organised. All the grandparents participated in the events with great zeal as their grandchildren cheered them wholeheartedly. It was a runaway hit. They are the greatest storytellers and the keepers of traditions. Ms Reena Bhasin, the Primary In-Charge thanked every grandparent for their presence and continuous support. We salute our roots.
Vichitra Vigyan 2020
Vichitra Vigyan is an inter-school science quest where students exhibit scientific acumen and conceptual knowledge through ingenious and inventive competitions. It consisted of four competitions based on Principles of Science and competitions that enthuse scientific thinking ability in our students. 36 schools participated in the event. The judges for the events were from our school alumni fraternity. The teachers of participating schools and judges were highly appreciative of all the events.
New Delhi, May 12, 2020: The 9th Dr Stya Paul Memorial Mathematics Quest was held on May 12, 2020, at Apeejay School, Saket, under the umbrella of ‘Trifecta’, a series of online inter-school competitions. May 12 holds great significance as it is recognized as the International Day for Women in Mathematics and is dedicated to innovative Mathematics by Maryam Mirzakhani who was the only woman to win the Fields Medal in the subject. The School saw a huge response in the form of 175 participants from 35 participating schools across Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. The events that stimulated the students' creativity, intellect, and prowess were Rangometry, Origeometry, Online Quiz, Mathematics Extempore, and Toys from Trash. The esteemed panel of judges to grace the occasion were Dr Tripti, Associate Professor at Gargi College, Dr Arshmeet, Assistant Professor at Gargi College, Dr Manish, Associate Professor at Aurobindo College, and Dr Ajay, also Associate Professor from Aurobindo college. They were welcomed by the School Principal, Mrs Smita Amit on the virtual platform. The inauguration had a soulful rendition of the Saraswati Vandana followed by details of every competition and wishing all the best to the participants. We saw participation from G.D. Goenka Public School, Mother's International School, CRPF Rohini, Bal Bharti Public School, Amity Schools, Indraprastha International School, Ahlcon Public School, and all sister schools of Apeejay. The event was overall a great success.
New Delhi, May 11, 2020: Chunauti, in its 23rd year, culminated on May 11, 2020 at Apeejay School, Saket, under the umbrella of the ‘Trifecta’ series of online inter-school competitions. Chanauti 2020 saw over 230 participants from 35 participating schools across Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. 13 events to stimulate students’ creativity, intellect, and prowess were conducted. It provided a unique opportunity for teachers and students to interact online. It was a first of its kind event which was held virtually yet was so real. Pandit Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, Hindustani Classical Musician, and a renowned sarod player graciously acceded to inaugurate the event. He was welcomed by the School Principal, Ms Smita Amit, in the online inaugural function - where over 90 participants that included guests, judges, teachers, and participants were present. The inauguration had a rendering of the Saraswati Vandana and a dance on Lord Krishna by the students. Pandit Biswajit Roy Chowdhury motivated the students by saying that participation in such events was more important than winning.
