New Delhi, December 31, 2014: The students of class VIII and IX were involved in a project on ‘Human Rights’ from the month of May 2014. The objectives of the project were to develop and promote understanding & respect for Human Rights; compare Human Rights implemented by governmental systems of India, Pakistan, England & China and sensitise people to help promote social equality, harmony and peace in the society. The students did research work on Human Rights followed and implemented by the four countries – India, Pakistan, UK and China. They also had three video conferences on the topic ‘Human Rights’ with the students of the schools from US, Israel, Palestine and India.

The project concluded with an exhibition on December 31, 2014. The chief guest of the event was Prof. Achin Vanaik, founding member of the CNDP and a professor of International Relations at Delhi University who motivated and appreciated the students. The students displayed their work in the form of PowerPoint presentations, short films, charts, files and also through a Human Rights tree displaying rights that are important to the community as a whole and as an individual member. A short quiz was also conducted for the audience.
