New Delhi, April 28, 2017: Apeejay School, Saket hosted its 20th annual inter-school extravaganza ‘Chunauti 2017’ – an event that brings out and showcases the ingenuity of children. The event, held on 27th and 28th April, witnessed innovative competitions spread over two days, stimulating the creativity, intellect and potential of young minds. Twenty seven schools with over three hundred students from classes I-XI from Delhi and NCR participated zealously in various exciting competitions like Panoramic Strokes, Paper Pilots, Defining Moments, Vachan, Flashanimate, Global Launch, Yog Urja and Crafty Origamiks. Competitions that portrayed language flair like Style Weave, Ant Sa Racho Aarambh, French Spell-Bee, Sanskrit Katha Vachan, Illustarti and Troubador invited encouraging response from the students. Music and dance competitions also unfolded the immense energy and talent of the performers.
Pandit Deepak Maharaj, a renowned exponent of Kathak belonging to the illustrious Kalka-Bindadinn gharana, disciple and son of Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji, graced the inaugural function as the Chief Guest. He enthralled the audience with his rendition of the fine nuances of Kathak while sharing his inspiring life experiences with the participants. The events were judged judiciously by eminent judges from the field of Music, Art, Languages, Science, Media, ICT and Education. The Ustad Mushtaq Ali Khan Trophy (UMAK) for excellence in Music and Dance was won by Springdales School, Dhaulakuan. The winners of the overall trophy for Chunauti 2017 was bagged by St. George’s School, Alaknanda for their stupendous performance.
