A Literacy Workshop
A Literacy workshop was organized in the school on 24th July 2009 for DSLP student – volunteers of our school. The workshop was addressed by Mrs. Aparna Bhatt, Member – State Resource Center, Jamia Milia Islamia and Mrs. V. Puri, an active member from the coordinating center, Springdales. There were about sixty students who participated in the workshop. The discussion was divided under broad heads such as: National Goal and Literacy Scenario, Role of DSLP student volunteers, Motivation of learners, Familiarization with Primers, Evaluation of Learners and Certification. Continuous motivation is required to change mindset and then educate a learner who is aged. The workshop ended with an open round of question and answers among the volunteers and the resource people.
Workshop on G-20 Summit & Financial Crisis
A workshop on the topic “G-20 Summit & Financial Crisis” has been organized for the students of class XII in the school premises on 14th July 2009. The resource person was Ms. Sanya Mahajan, who has represented India as the Global Change Maker in London, G-20 Summit in April 2009. She also represented India at the African Youth Summit held in CapeTown , South Africa in May 2009. She has guided students through the global issue of financial crisis, its consequences and preventive measures. The students have actively participated in the role-playing session concerning slow down of the economy which have posed a variety of challenges to the growth of nations across the globe. It was a true learning experience for all the students.
Workshop on Wellness Management
A teachers training workshop on Wellness Management was organized by Mrs. Uma Kalra on 12th May 2009 in the school premises. The resource person was Mrs. Pria Warrick. She discussed various problems related to the fitness and daily life routine. She has given valuable tips on managing stress associated with everyday events and provided skills to manage and enjoy daily lifestyle. It has encouraged to adopt positive attitude to our health by taking care of both our mind and body.
