Recent Workshops

Ms Seema Chauhan and Ms. Sarita Sharma attended a workshop on the theme “ From Teaching To Enabling Assimilation” on 15th September in Ramakrishna mission. The workshop focused on the role of the teacher that is of a facilitator and how to enable students to access new knowledge better. The resource person was Mr. V Srinivas an IIT and IIM who had developed this module on achieving consistent success, mainly meant for students. The workshop aimed at creating in the teachers’ mind awareness as to how, while teaching various subjects, they can awaken in the students a scientific temper, inquisitiveness for seeking fundamentals, creativity and a problem solving approach and ultimately create transformed human being.

The concept presentation was followed by a group exercise in which teachers from different schools were divided into groups and each group prepared a presentation keeping in mind how to invoke the inner power of the students and the various steps involved in it. 

A Workshop on “Education for National Citizenship at a time of Globalization- Skills for a Mobile Age” was attended by Ms. Sarita Sehgal and Ms.Praveen Kumari on 12th Sept.2009. The workshop was organized by AEI counselor Ms. Kelly Raj and Professor Glyn Davis, Vice Chancellor, Melbourne University at Hotel Imperial. It was an interesting session on Language and Implementation of Language at global level, where English and French occupy the front seat. The other languages and their hold in today’s scenario and public and global acceptance were also discussed.

Hero Honda safe Riding Club under the aegis of Hero Honda Motors Ltd. Organized a safe riding exercise with Apeejay School teachers on 9th Sept. The first out of the five lags of the riding sessions was based on theory as well as practical.  The teachers were given tips and training to teach safe riding mantra to youngsters at school. In a bid to make riding motorbikes and scooters safer, alleviate risks of accidents and incidents of road rage the training module was chalked out with video footage, Rules manuals and supervised learning under competent and certified instructors. The resource person Mr. Prashant gave valuable tips while the instructors Mr. Sangeet and Mr. Amit taught the teachers varied skills of road safety on bumpy track, narrow strips, Balance and control, riding posture, right style of breaking, turning, Overtaking bikes, scooters etc..

It was a successful and enriching first round for the teachers.
