Recent Workshops

Mrs. Shivani Verma attended a Japanese workshop organized by JALTAI at Japan Foundation on 18th & 19th December, 2009. The workshop was on endeavour to bring Japanese teachers of Asian countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bnagladesh, India under one roof. Teachers discussed their success and failures while teaching Japanese. Various educationist graced the occasion with their benign presence.

1C.B.S.E. organized the 16th National Annual Sahodaya Conference at Gurgaon from 9th to 11th December, 2009. The theme of the conference was “Rethinking School reforms – opportunities and challenges”.

Miss Renu Nagpal was invited by the C.B.S.E. at the British Council as resource person to give a presentation on the importance of physical education at primary level, the PEC methodology and the case study of Apeejay school, Pitampura.
The case study of Apeejay school, Pitampura came across as the highlight of the presentation. The presentation showed the effective implementation of PEC methodology in Apeejay school, Pitampura. The success of this methodology among the students and the teachers was for everyone to see. The effective use of PEC resources – the physical education cards and the sports equipments which not only make physical education fun but a productive session as well, was focused upon.

A PEC feedback and monitoring workshop was held on 17th November,2009 in Apeejay school, Pitampura. 50 teachers from 30 pilot schools in Delhi under PEC project attended the workshop. The resource persons were Mr. Pandey, consultant British Council, Mr. Mukesh Kohli, consultant British Council and Ms. Renu Nagpal, Apeejay School Pitampura. Mr.Bedi gave a presentation on “The Importance of Sports and PEC" in Apeejay Pitampura. Ms. Mona Shipley, head of Sports, British Council highlighted the piloting and monitoring of the PEC project. The teachers gave a very positive feedback on the implementation of the project in their respective schools. They also discussed the problems faced by them and the ways to improve upon it with the resource group. There was a practical session for the participating teachers.
