New Delhi, Sep. 16, 2015: The International Day for Preservation of Ozone Layer is observed to focus global attention and action on the vital environmental issues. To create awareness among the students, different competitions were organised by the Ozone Cell, Minister of Environment and Forest & Climate Change, Government of India. To commemorate the International Ozone Day, a prize distribution ceremony was also organised at the India Habitat Centre which was presided over by the honorable Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Mr. Prakash Javadekar.
Mr. Javadekar administered an oath to pledge to save the environment by discontinuing the use of substances that causes ozone holes. In the painting competition, Vidushi Chahal of Class XI-B was awarded the third prize which comprised a medal, a cash prize of Rs.10,000 and a citation certificate.
