New Delhi, December 4, 2012: Four youth leaders of Apeejay School went to St. Mary’s School in Dwarka to conduct group activities for intellectually and physically challenged students. The workshop was organised by Special Olympic Bharat. The main aim of the workshop was to guide the students in setting up their own ‘Youth Activation Committee’ which aims at empowering youth to encourage the next generation to be inclusive of people with or without intellectual disabilities.
Members of Special Olympics ‘Project UNIFY’ work together throughout the year to motivate and educate youth to become agents of change in their communities and advocate for the respect, inclusion and acceptance of all people regardless of abilities.
Five student volunteers have taken up the task of working in close association with the ‘Special Olympics Bharat Team’ as youth leaders under ‘Project Unify’ and become active facilitators in their projects.
