New Delhi, Feb. 15, 2017: The Workshop ‘Flight School’ was organised to explain the concept of aerodynamics to paper airplanes. It was conducted by Mr. Dylan Parker and Mr. James Norton who are the paper pilots in Australia. They briefed about various wing shapes & dihedral angles and Bernoulli’s principle in making paper planes. They further added that there are four basic principles that affect flight – Lift, Thrust, Drag and Gravity wherein Lift is the force that keeps the airplane in the air. Gravity works against lift by pulling the airplane towards the ground. Thrust is the force that causes the plane to move forward through the air. Drag is the force that tries to slow the airplane down.
Some tutorials of few paper plane designs were also given. The Workshop concluded with a film titled ‘Paper Plane’.
