New Delhi, April 19, 2016: A delegation of dignitaries from Special Olympics International, USA and Singapore visited Apeejay School, Pitampura in April 2016. The guests from USA included Rebecca Ralston, Senior Manager of Young Athletes with Special Olympics International, Haylie Bernacki, Specialist of Unified Sports Schools & College Growth, Adrian Szamreta, Senior Director, School and Inter-scholastic Sports with Special Olympics International, Jenny Zhong, Program Specialist, Global Schools and Youth Activation, Deepak Natali, Director, Organisational Development Special Olympics Asia Pacific Regional office, Singapore, Mr. Victor R Vaz, Special Olympics Bharat National Director - Sports and Ms. Mukta Narain Thind, Special Olympics Bharat National Director - Organization Development. The event highlighted the association of Apeejay School, Pitampura with the Special Olympics Bharat over the past five years. The program commenced with multiple unified sports activities including Badminton, Football and the game of Seven Stones. The games saw a lot of zeal & fervour and new friendships between special children from Purti School, Ashok Vihar and children from Apeejay School, Pitampura.

The sports activities were followed by unified cultural performances including a choir and a dance. Further, Navreet and Tanmay Aggarwal gave a presentation focusing on not only the programmes that the School has conducted over the years, but also on the things learned as youth leaders. Thereafter, other youth leaders from Apeejay School, Pitampura shared their experiences of working with the organisation. The event refreshed old memories, instilled a sense of satisfaction within everyone and left all the dignitaries with an assurance in their minds that the future is going to be better.
