Delhi, Sep 3, 2021: Teacher’s Day is reminiscent of all those teachers who influence our lives profoundly and bring back nostalgic and sweet memories. 5th September commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was one of the most distinguished scholars, the first Vice President, and the second President of India. As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday has been observed as Teacher’s Day.
The Pre-Primary Department celebrated Teacher’s Day with festivity and enthusiasm on Friday, 3rd September 2021. The special assembly commenced by offering tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by the class teachers and the students. Thereafter students performed role play of Dr. S Radhakrishnan. They gave a peek into his life and his contribution to the field of education through their speech. The assembly was led off by students who spoke about the significance of Teacher’s Day and also elaborated the meaning of the word ‘TEACHER’, highlighting the contribution of teachers in a student’s life. The assembly was carried forward by rhyme presentations which were melodiously recited by students. The energetic performances witnessed in the action songs were contagious and left everyone in awe of them. The songs and rhymes were dedicated to teachers who are considered to be the second parents of students. They mould their life with love, affection, dedication, and hard work.
Adorable dance performances by students on the songs ‘I Love you Teacher’, ‘Bum Bum Bhole’, ‘Nanhe se kadam le kar’ left the audience mesmerised. The lyrics of the song depicted the love and respect a student feels for the teacher. It was an endeavour to celebrate Teacher’s Day in a special way to and assist students' to convey their sincere gratitude. The next event of the assembly was most memorable as students presented their amazing handmade greeting cards/ recorded messages & songs they have prepared for this special occasion as a token of love and affection for their beloved teachers. The assembly culminated with the thanks addressed by the class teachers. They appreciated everyone’s participation and applauded the efforts of all students.
In the Primary Department, the students expressed their love and gratitude towards their teachers by presenting the e-cards. They also spoke about the importance of the day and how their teachers have helped and guided them. A few of them recited poems, songs, and presented dance to their teachers.
In the main school assembly on Zoom, students of Dedication House conducted a special assembly on Teacher’s Day. The event was well anchored by Head Girl Malvika Tiwari. The program started with expressing gratitude towards Goddess Saraswati. Students talked about the importance of the day. Principal, Ms. Veena Goel, in her address talked about the role of a teacher in the life of students. She applauded the hard work and efforts made by the teachers during the Covid-19 times. This was followed by mind-tickling riddles and some fun games for teachers.
The program ended joyfully with students expressing their gratitude towards their teachers.
