New Delhi, Feb. 19, 2017: Apeejay School, Pitampura got an opportunity to be a part of the Swachh Paryavaran Walk organised by the Progress Harmony & Development Chamber of Commerce & Industry on 19th February at Rajpath. It was yet another glorious day when students and teachers went for the Paryavaran Walk being a part of such a noble cause.
There were about 34 schools who participated with about 1500 children and teachers. The drive started with the National Anthem sung by the kids with special needs, followed by the address by the Chief Guest, Honourable Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Col Rajyavardhan Singh (Retd.). Thereafter, Mr. Gopal Jiwarajka, President, PHD Chamber and Mr. Derk Sagger from the UN addressed the gathering.
The Chief Guest addressed the children calling them the future saviours of the environment. He insisted on the fact that we all want to have a clean and green environment with a blue sky. He also questioned that if we want to keep ourselves clean then why not our environment?
The campaign was flagged off by the Honourable Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (Retd).There were a few presentations like dances, songs, band performances by schools including Apeejay School, Noida, Pathways and Maharaja Agrasen to name a few.
The 2.2 kms walk started from Rajpath at 9am and concluded at India Gate at 10am. The objective of the Campaign was to inspire participating youth and adults to become brand ambassadors for conservation of resources & environment.
