On 12th August 2012, 9 students of Apeejay School, Pitampura along with two teachers Ms Shivani Verma and Ms Shama Katyayan went to Singapore to attend an exchange programme with Hwa Chong institution. The institution is one of the top most Chinese school of the city, established in the year 1918. The strength of the school is around 4000 students and it is from grade seven. The fir most and distinguished feature of Singaporean society is their discipline and punctuality.
The students were given opportunity to observe classes and were also given a deep insight into Singaporean culture. Singapore is a cosmopolitan society where four languages are primarily in use English, Chinese, Malaya and Tamil. Everyday students observed flag raising ceremony hence forth they went to their respective classes along with their host students followed by sight seeing. Three students of the group Twishi Mohan, Rohan Aggarwal and Chaitanya Bhargawa worked on a collaborative project with the Hwa Chong students and gave their final presentation on 17th August 2012. The students were taken to various tourist destinations like Singaporean gallery, Singaporean flyer. Zurong bird park, Universal Studio. It was indeed a pleasant and enjoyable experience for them .One more interesting fact about Singapore is that it does not have natural tourist destinations infact all the spots are man made.
