Bengaluru, Mach 24, 2019: It was a proud moment for Apeejay School, Pitampura when two of its teachers received appreciation and recognition for their commitment in their respective field of work. Mr Arvind Kaushal (HOD, Physical Education) and Mrs Manju Varma (HOD, Performing Arts) visited UK under a British Council project, delivered in partnership with Royal Academy of Dance and Marylebone Cricket Club. It aimed to bring gender equality through dance and cricket. They received training in London from 20th March to 24th March 2018 and conducted a series of workshops for students from different schools under the project titled ‘STEP UP’. The finale and felicitation ceremony was held at the British Council, Barakhambha Road where the British High Commissioner honoured the School. Under the aegis of the British Council, both the teachers have been appointed mentors for training other teachers in the country. The training programme kick started in Bengaluru from 24th March 2019.
