SPORTIFY - DAY 1

On 29th January 2021, the first-ever virtual Sports Week – SPORTIFY 2021 was organised at Apeejay School, Pitampura with exuberance and zeal. The melodious Sports Anthem was perfectly pitched to raise one’s spirits. The event was ably anchored by Sports Captain - Malvika Tiwari, Vice Sports Captain - Prabhav Gupta, Devotion House Captain - Anisha Anand, Sports Captain - Rhythm Thapa, and Discipline House Vice Captian - Drishti Batra.

An Inter-class Yoga Competition for Class VII was held. Two boys and two girls from each section had to perform one asana each from 4 different categories - Forward Bending, Backward Bending, Balancing, and Twisting. Seeing the young students perform Yoga has undoubtedly inspired all of us to pursue the art.

The School Principal, Ms. Veena Goel in her inaugural welcome urged the students to participate and build up a spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship. Vice Principal, Mr. Sujeet Eric Masih appreciated the asanas performed by the students. Mr. Sumit, one of the judges, urged the students to participate whole-heartedly in games and take up more physical activities in life. The event was a resounding success.


SPORTIFY - DAY 2

The second day of the Sportify 2021 began with the virtual lamp lighting ceremony by the Principal, Ms. Veena Goel, and enlightening words of wisdom by Ms. Savita Panhotra. All the participants gave excellent performances, showcasing their talents with immense exuberance and zeal.

In the first event, students from class VIII competed in a skillful round of steadily tossing a table tennis ball. A group of 2 boys and 2 girls from each section completed hitting the jackpot. The focus and determination of the participants were truly inspiring. Mr. Sumit judged the event.

The second event of Class IX started soon after the first one ended. The theme of this event was squat and kick and a team of two girls and two boys from each section gave lively performances. This event was judged by Ms. Sapna Sondhi and Ms. Neha Nayyar.


SPORTIFY - DAY 3

1st February 2021, the third day of the virtual Sports Week SPORTIFY 2021, started in full swing. The event was well anchored by Tirush Jindal of Class IX D, Devotion House Vice-Captain, Vibhusha Garg and Mass Media & Photography Captian, Riya Bansal.

An inter-class competition of push-ups and lunges was organised for Class XI students. A team from each section had 2 boys, who performed pushups with jump squats, and 2 girls, who performed lunges and jumps with alternate legs. The senior students have inspired everyone a lot.

Middle School In-charge, Ms. Malini Sridhar, congratulated HOD - Physical Education, Mr. Arvind Kaushal, and his team on organising this event. Mr. Vijay Gupta, one of the judges applauded the stamina and enthusiasm of the participants. He also advised them to use safety equipment while performing fitness activities. The event was also judged by Ms. Neha Nayyar and Ms. Sapna Sondhi.


SPORTIFY - DAY 5

Day 5 started with the Inter-class ‘Dribble the Ball’ competition for the students of Class V. A team of 2 boys and 2 girls had to dribble the ball for 30 seconds in the basic level and 60 seconds in the advanced level. The young talent inspired everyone to pursue the physical activity in their homes. The event was excellently anchored by Devotion House Vice-Captain Saanvi Kalra, Journalism Captain Myrah Khanna, and Vice-Sports Captain Hritvik Aggarwal.

Pre-Primary School In-charge, Ms. Sonali Chopra, advised everyone to play whole-heartedly. She thanked HOD - Physical Education, Mr. Arvind Kaushal, and his team for inviting her to the event.


SPORTIFY - DAY 6

An Inter-class ‘Dribble the Ball’ competition was organised for the students of Class IV. A team of 3 boys and 3 girls from each section had to dribble the ball for 30 seconds in the basic level and for 60 seconds in the advanced level. The event was ably anchored by Discipline House Vice-Captain Drishti Batra, Sports Captain Rhythm Thapa, and Value & Ethics Captain Gavyam Garg.

Vice Principal, Dr. Sujeet Eric Masih, applauded the efforts of the Physical Education Department in the smooth conduct of this online mega event. Mrs. Manju Verma, one of the judges, who has also been a state-level basketball player applauded the efforts of the participants and encouraged the students to participate in physical activities.


SPORTIFY - DAY 7

The first-ever inter-class virtual sports week came to a successful and fulfilled closure with a plethora of fun-filled activities on 6th February 2021. The event was filled with exciting activities and new experiences for everyone. The closing ceremony was skillfully anchored by Sports Captain Malvika Tiwari, Discipline House Vice-Captain Drishti Batra, Journalism Captain Prabhav Gupta, Sports Captain Rhythm Thapa, Devotion House Vice-Captain Vibhusha Garg, Discipline House Captain Kishamya Trikha, and Devotion House Captain Anisha Anand.

Ms. Raman Rekhi, Director, Marketing and Communications at Special Olympics Bharat, Mr. Victor Vaz, National Sports Director at Special Olympics Bharat, and Ms. Shilpa Arora, President of Special Olympics Bharat, Delhi North-West District, and National Youth Leaders from Special Olympics Bharat were the guests for the day.

Mr. Victor Vaz applauded the efforts of the winners, participants, and the organisers of the event. Ms. Raman Rekhi thanked the members of Apeejay School, Pitampura for the support extended to Special Olympics Bharat in their mission of creating an inclusive society.

School Principal, Ms. Veena Goel, in her address told the students that good health and good sense don’t come easily. For that, we have to follow a strict regime of a good diet and physical exercise.

An inclusive Yoga competition was conducted for athletes from Special Olympic Bharat and youth leaders from Apeejay School, Pitampura. Skipping, Toss the Ball, Yoga, and Dribble the Ball competitions were also conducted for teachers.
