New Delhi, December 3, 2014: The School had the proud privilege of organising a Kuchipudi dance performance in association with Spic Macay by renowned dancers, Padamshri Guru, Jayaram Rao; T Lakshmi Reddy & Vanashree Rao. The Spic Macay society promotes Indian Classical Music and culture among the youth of India through such programmes.

The programme commenced with a traditional welcome of the esteemed artists by the School Principal, Mr. D. K. Bedi. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

Vanashree Rao, the renowned Kuchipudi dancer told the students about the origin of this dance form & also explained ‘Mudra’ - the hand gestures as well as the various aspects of this ancient dance form through beautiful expressions. In the end, the whole auditorium echoed with applause when T. Lakshmi Reddy concluded the programme with a scintillating dance performance depicting the Draupadi Cheer from Mahabharata’.

It was a great learning experience for the students as well as the teachers.
