New Delhi, Dec. 1 & 2, 2015: Apeejay School, Pitampura organised a Flute recital on 1st December 2015, by Pt. Rajendra Prasanna, world renowned Flute player, under the aegis of ‘Spic Macay’. It gave the students an opportunity to experience first-hand wonder of Indian Classical Music.

​The enchanting morning began with a traditional welcome of esteemed artists by the School Principal, Mr. D.K. Bedi. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Pandit Rajendra Prasanna and his accompanying artists. Pandit Rajendra then spoke to the students about the basic structure of musical instruments before beginning his musical extravaganza and presentation to the students.

The event culminated with an interactive question and answer round wherein Pt. Rajendra Prasanna briefed the students about his practice schedule. The students thoroughly enjoyed this musical journey. Mr. D.K. Bedi felicitated Pt. Rajendra Prasanna and their artists by presenting them mementoes.

​On 2nd December 2015, Apeejay School, Pitampura had the proud privilege of organising the great Folk Pandvani by Padamshri & Padma Bhushan, Dr. Teejan Bai.

Dr. Teejan Bai, one of the leading Folk artists of the country, has been awarded ‘Padamashri’ from the President of India in 1988, Sangeet Natak Academy Award by the Govt. of India in 1996 and Padama Bhushan in 2003. She has also been the Cultural Ambassador of India since 1980.

The programme commenced with a traditional welcome of the esteemed artists by Mr. D.K. Bedi, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

Dr. Tejan Bai presented one of the scenes from Mahabharata in the world famous Pandvani style of singing from Chhattisgarh after telling the students about the origin of this folk.

It was an enriching experience for the students and staff of the School.
