New Delhi, Sep. 29, 2018: Apeejay School, Pitampura, has always given importance to Orientation Programmes. Keeping this in mind, on 29th September 2018, the parent orientation programme (Phase 2) was held in the MPH. This was a step initiated to familiarize parents with the ethos and values of the Institution. The aim was also to acquaint the parents as ‘partners in progress’ with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities. The theme was ‘Raising 21st Century Children’.
Dr Geetanjali Kumar, the resource person, talked about parenting and gave tips on motivating the children to communicate well and de-stress themselves. She also guided the parents to be strict and not give in easily to fulfill the demands of the children. She gave ways and methods to inculcate the habit of appreciation in today’s younger generation. She advised the parents to stay away from electronic gadgets and spend quality time with their children. The talk was motivational and the parents really appreciated and even had a one to one discussion with the resource person about the problems they face with their children. She advised the parents not to be over possessive or over protective about their children, and let them commit mistakes and learn.
The day came to a close with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms Sonali Chopra, Pre-Primary In-Charge, followed by high tea. Each one had something to take back as a part of learning. It was an inspirational experience.
