New Delhi, Jan 8, 2021: Apeejay School, Pitampura hosted yet another session of its popular online discussion titled #opinionsmatter on the topic - ‘Gender Sensitization: Time to Change The World’. The School, under the leadership of the School Principal, was part of a UNESCO-led global initiative on ‘Engaging Boys for Gender Equality’. Around 50 boys of Class VIII had participated in this programme. In this online platform, they voiced their concerns and opinion on ‘Gender Discrimination’ which can also lead to violation of basic human rights. They presented presentations on the Empowerment of Women, the Portrayal of Women in Advertisements, Domestic Violence, and Common Myths leading to Gender Discrimination. Each student spoke with clarity about how gender inequality is prevalent in our society and the role it can play in changing the mindset of the people.

The participants participated actively and stressed that every individual is different and unique in their special way and diversity is to be celebrated and not be a cause for division.

The School Principal appreciated the public speaking skills of all the boys' panelists and congratulated the students for their wholehearted participation.
