New Delhi, Oct. 1, 2018: India’s 3rd National Festival, Gandhi Jayanti, is celebrated by the entire nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of the nation - Mahatma Gandhi. The Pre-Primary Department of the School celebrated Bapu’s birthday, a day prior on 1st October 2018, with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The assembly began with an introduction of Mahatma Gandhi to help the children understand the freedom struggle and his role in helping us get our independence back from Britishers through non-violence. This was followed by a rhyme presentation – ‘Ek the apne Mohan Gandhi’, glorifying Gandhi Ji and how he heralded a new era for our country.
The assembly also included a small enactment by students wherein they depicted Mahatma Gandhi’s visual metaphor of three monkeys, with one of them covering his eyes, the second his mouth and the third his ears – depicting the phrase ‘see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil’.
Thus, children were given a deep insight into the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi.
