Class -X student of Apeejay School, Pitampura had another video conference with the students of St. Joseph's Nudgee College, Australia. Students in both schools articulated a wide range of definitions of wealth: some believing it is mostly spiritual and others understanding it as material. The students talked about a wide variety of contemporary and historical figures whose lives inspire and motivate them today: Hare Kun, Edmund Rice, Gandhi, Jesus, Mother Teresa, Stephen Hawking, Bill Gates, just to name a few. Students were able to articulate specific acts of charity or teachings that have made a deep impression in their lives.
There was an interesting dialogue about how the afterlife influences current decisions and actions. Students talked with passion about the charity projects in which their schools are involved: working with the homeless, children with disabilities, literacy training, relief support, social justice league, immersion programs, etc. The conversation wrapped up with students doing a beautiful job articulating what motivates them to engage in these good works. Students from Australia and India said that their perceptions of each other changed after the videoconference. Overall it was an excellent videoconference.
