New Delhi, Sep. 25, 2018: A trip to the National Zoological Park was organised for the students of the Pre-Primary Wing on 24th & 25th September 2018. The zoo is a home of several mammals, birds, reptiles and other species in a diverse natural habitat. The morning was little wet but very pleasant and fresh, making it perfect for exploring animals in their habitat. Students were provided light snacks before they began their journey in the buses to the zoo
Students were very curious and excited to have a trip on trolley as they observed an array of animals and birds. The teacher explained the special characteristics of different animals as they moved around the zoo. They saw familiar and unfamiliar species of animals and birds – the Asiatic lion, White Tiger, Leopard, African Elephant, Jaguar, White Swans, migratory birds, etc. They were very excited to see the living creatures for real. As a part of the refreshment, students were served ice-creams to rejuvenate themselves.
On the way back to school, children happily sang the popular rhyme about the animal kingdom ‘Jungle mein Janwar khelte hai’. An underlying message learnt on the excursion was that we should not harm any animal and always love the creatures as they are the gift of Mother Nature to the mankind. The trip to the zoo was indeed a very special and memorable experience for the children.
Educational Excursion to Chandigarh
Chandigarh, Sep. 30, 2018: About 91 students of classes IV and V, accompanied by 8 teachers, went for an educational excursion to Chandigarh from 29th-30th September 2018. It was an opportunity for them to explore different aspects of the modern city. Post hotel check-in and lunch, students were driven to the famous Chattbir Zoo. The Lion Safari at the zoo was a visual treat for the children as they got to see the Asiatic Lions, Royal Bengal Tigers and various other mammals, birds and reptiles. Later in the evening, children had fun time at the famous Sukhna Lake. This was followed by a musical evening at the hotel where our little rock stars showed their best dance moves. The next morning, our little explorers were ready to visit the iconic Nek Chand Rock Garden. These enthusiastic learners were awestruck to see the beautiful sculptures and artwork made from scrap and waste materials. After lunch, they visited the Cactus Garden and came across a dazzling display of hundreds of species of cactus in the garden. It was indeed a great learning experience for them. On their way home to Delhi, the children not only carried back with them life time experiences but also memories of new bonds of friendship which they will cherish forever.
