New Delhi, May 10, 2016: Apeejay School, Pitampura celebrated Computer Day on the topic 'Is Cyber Bullying a Crime?' The day began with the morning assembly which was attended by students from classes VI to XII. The assembly was initiated by a stuti, and was followed by English and Hindi talks on Cyber Bullying.
A spellbinding dance drama was performed by students of Class XI on the same issue. Further, self composed poems were recited in English and Hindi. A skit was also performed by students of Class XI, which touched the hearts of all present on the occasion. It was followed by a small quiz which tested the knowledge of all students. The assembly also saw a mesmerising song, called 'Invisible', performed by the school band 'Untitled'.
The guest of honour was Mr. Shiv Mathur, an alumnus of the 2008 batch. Mr. Mathur currently serves as the Senior Application Developer in Fujitsu Consulting, India. He delivered an address in the morning assembly, where he nostalgically talked about his experience with the School. Mr. Mathur also conducted a session for the students of Class VIII on the relevant theme, wherein he shared the types of bullies, pros and cons of cyber bullying, cyber laws, prevention methods, etc. The session concluded with an interactive question & answer session. Students imbibed a lot from the session and they left the premises with a new pool of knowledge & learning.
The Computer Day also saw various competitions being conducted for the students from classes V to X, whose details are as follows:
- Class V - Powerpoint Presentation Competition
- Class V I- Programming in PC Logo
- Class VII - Audio Editing Competition
- Class VIII - Animation in Flash
- Class IX - Poster Making in Corel Draw
- Class X - Judgment and Screening of the Movie Making Competition
The event carried with itself great zeal and fervor and was truly enjoyed & appreciated by one and all. The day not only promoted the subject of computers, but also had a lot to teach to the young students.
