On 28th September 2011, Ms. Vandana Adwani alongwith two students Saurav Kumar (XI-D) and Priyamvada Saraf (X-D) was invited at the British High Commissioner, Sir Richard Stagg’s, residence to meet Mr. Tony Blair, patron of Tony Blair Faith Foundation, accompanied by Mr. Rohan Gavaskar, to promote inter-faith harmony among students through his Tony Blair Faith Foundation.
The event’s highlight was a fun cricket match, inclusive of every participant along with Mr. Tony Blair and cricketer Rohan Gavaskar. to raise awareness of malaria prevention and the work it is doing in India to bring communities together against the disease. Malaria bed-nets were used in place of cricket nets to sensitize the participants towards the epidemic malady, i.e. malaria. The cricket match demonstrated the importance for communities to work together in the fight against the disease, by aiming to "knock malaria for six".
It was indeed a memorable and life-time experience for all of us.
