Europe, May 18, 2013: A group of 14 students of the school along with the school Principal, Mr. D.K Bedi and Mrs. Puja Chadha were part of an educational & cultural exchange trip to Austria and Germany from 4th May- 18th May, 2013.
The 15-day trip aimed at providing better understanding and appreciation of global inter-dependence and educational enrichment.
The students were in Villach from May 4th to May 11th. They got a glimpse of their host school, Peraugymnasium School. They observed classes with their host students wherein they observed the novel, teaching methodologies such as E-learning networks and ICT web tools used for teaching. The enticing city coupled with its magnificent history and rich cultural variety exposed the group to a multitude of cultures as well. The students also went for a heritage tour around the city and visited various tourist destinations like ‘Landskron’, a ruined castle; ‘Salzburg’, the birth place of Mozart, among others. The students of the school also enthralled the audience with their exuberating cultural programme showcasing India’s cultural heritage and the accolades achieved by Apeejay Education Society.
The next destination was Weimar (Germany). During their stay in Weimar, the delegation was exposed to the educational system of Germany. The major attraction was the Observatory located at the top of the school. They visited ‘Erfurt’, the oldest city in Thuringen along with ‘Thuringer Landstag’ (The Parliament). The group also explored Weimar museums, palaces, historic houses as well as literary and art collections of famous literary personalities such as ’Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’ and ‘Friedrich Schiller’.
