New Delhi, April 23, 2019: Apeejay School, Pitampura celebrated its 1st Community Day on 23rd April 2019, on the occasion of Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on 14th April 2019. It was an initiative of the Atal Innovation Mission to celebrate Community Day across all ATL Labs to weave the community together with the spirit of tinkering, innovation and collaboration.

The day started with a prayer to the Almighty and lighting the ceremonial lamp. A short talk on Apeejay School, Pitampura ATL Lab journey was delivered by Mrs Sarika Minocha. School Principal, Mrs Veena Goel, inspired the students to ignite their mind and think out of the box and innovate in their most favorite place of their School. Later, a session was taken by School Mentor, Mr Aditya Arora, CEO FAAD Times. He delivered a talk on ATL Lab, equipments available in the lab, upcoming ideas and the journey of an entrepreneur.

52 students from St. Margaret School and Rukmini Devi Public School participated in the event. To begin with, there was an icebreaking session about knowing each other and creating a string of balloons. The Science experiments were demonstrated by Mr Sumit (PGT Physics), which were enjoyed and appreciated by all. The hands-on activity with the students of non-ATL schools was taken by Mrs Sarika Minocha and Ms Neha Varma. Students enjoyed working on breadboards and LED’s, push button. They were also involved in making paper circuits. Overall, the day was full of fun and enjoyment. In this way, our school’s ATL Lab opened their doors for the nearby non-ATL schools to celebrate a fun-filled day to tinker and innovate with the celebration of the ATL Community Day.
