New Delhi, Jan. 23, 2016: Apeejay School, Pitampura organised ‘Apeejay Walk’ on the theme ‘Pradushan Mukt Meri Dilli, Swach Sundar Meri Dilli’, to spread a strong message against pollution. The walk was flagged off from the school by Mr. Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi in the presence of Dr. Neha Berlia, Member of Management Board, Apeejay Stya Group, eminent educationists and parents.
The students of classes III-XI walked from the School, covering a distance of about 5 km in the neighbouring area holding banners, placards and shouting slogans to draw the attention of the general public.
The distinguished Dy. Chief Minister, Mr. Manish Sisodia, stressed on the importance of reducing pollution and encouraged the students to make the issue their own cause & spread the word among family and friends. His encouraging speech motivated the students of the School to carry forward their message with unbridled enthusiasm. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Neha Berlia, congratulated the School Principal, Mr. D.K. Bedi and appreciated the efforts of the School for organsing such fruitful activities.
Students performed dances, songs and street plays to attract the attention of people towards their cause. The band, one from the host and the other from Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai, kept the morale of the students high.
The young eco-warriors succeeded in creating awareness about pollution among the people.
