Apeejay School, Pitampura celebrated its Annual Appreciation and Cultural Evening on 24th & 25th November 2018 in the school premises amidst great zing and exuberance. Mr. Sanjay Goel (IAS), Director, Directorate of Education, was the chief guest and Mrs. Shashi Bala Saini, DDE (Directorate of Education) was the special guest and Ms. Shovana Narayan (PadmaShree and Kathak Guru) was the chief guest on 24th and 25th of November 2018 respectively along with a galaxy of dignitaries and distinguished members of the Apeejay Education Society. The programme started with traditional lightning of the lamp by the dignitaries. The school Principal Ms. Veena Goel welcomed the guests; she also addressed the gathering and presented the school report which gave a glimpse of major events and achievements of the schools. After the audio-visual presentation the prize distribution ceremony felicitated the meritorious students for excellence in academics and co-curricular activities.
The cultural extravaganza was a fusion of traditional and contemporary culture. The school orchestra set the tempo for the programme with their melodies and spectacular synchronization. The highlight of the programme was ‘Guru Shishya Prajwala’ a Musical Dance Drama. Guru is the means of realization and there is no knowledge without the Guru. It showcased the beauty of this relationship through the words of Krishna and Arjuna and portrayed that all great men who were lost in the dungeons of self doubt were led by their Guru towards salvation. The stage was set alive with Maratha weapon dance, Gopi Krishna and Bal Leela dance. The school choir and orchestra enthralled all with their lively and vibrant songs. The lively show was aptly given a grand finale with a breathtaking and rhythmic performance by the students. The rich display of color, music and dance left the audience spellbound.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Vice Principal Dr. Sujeet Masih, the programme culminated with the school song sung robustly by the school choir.
