New Delhi, Oct. 14, 2016: The students of classes XI & XII of Apeejay School, Pitampura visited CSIR - Institute of Genomics & Interactive Biology as they were introduced to the thrills of research. The unique opportunity opened up the horizons of young minds to the exhilarating field of research. It was an open day organised by CSIR. The research work which the students saw was in the areas of genomics, molecular medicine, bioinformatics, proteomics and environmental biotechnology. They had interaction with research scholars, professors, doctors & research students of the Institute. They also got exposure to laboratory experiments and scientific displays.
The students visited different labs wherein the research work was in progress on TB, Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Genetic Pharmacology. Students were also given an insight on the research activities that the scientists were engaged in. It was an educative experience.
