Linguista Celebrates the Beauty & Diversity of Languages

New Delhi, August 28, 2019: The School organised LINGUISTA 2019 to celebrate the beauty of languages and their importance in our lives. The day began with a short assembly highlighting the essence of refined and eloquent language skills as an embellishment of our personality. A plethora of interactive activities and competitions marked the day, with an aim to provide a platform to the students to express their oratory skills and creativity. A mixture of activities in Hindi and English language like – Baataon Baataon Mein (classes IX-X), Lexicon (Class V), Character Dramatization (Class IV), Quiz & Newspaper Buzz (Class VIII), Book Discussion – Hard Times by Charles Dickens (Class XI) saw students giving tough competition to each other. The students of Class IV exhibited their beautiful handwriting through an inter-class Sulekh Competition.
Two interactive workshops – one by Ms Priya Nagrajan – Roll a Dice (Grammar & Vocabulary Games) and Enhancing Communication Skills by Mr Lucky Puchrat for students of classes VI &VII respectively were an enriching experience for the students.
New Delhi, August 2019: A Magic Show was organised for the students of classes I and II. The magician, Mr Mahesh, performed many tricks and illusions that made children watch him with great excitement. The students could not stop clapping as he unfolded his magic tricks one by one. The magic show was a great success and the students enjoyed it very much.
Special Assembly on Janmashtami
New Delhi, August 2019: Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna. A combined assembly by all KG classes was put together to celebrate the festival wherein the students came dressed up as divine Radha and Krishna.
School Principal, Ms Veena Goel, graced the occasion with her benign presence. Krishna’s favourite white butter, misri, ladoos and peda were offered to the Lord to seek his divine blessings.
The assembly started with an introduction on how and why we celebrate this festival, followed by a performance on the bhajan ‘Achutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram’ by Class KG D.
A small skit on Lord Krishna was presented depicting miracles that happened during his birth along with a dance performance on the song ‘Maiya Yashoda’ by Class KG B. After this, a splendid performance on the bhajan ‘Govind bolo Hari Gopal bolo’ was given by Class KG A. At last, Class KG C gave an enchanting performance on Krishna’s songs mashup making the audience dance with joy.
The festival was celebrated with great zeal. The assembly concluded with Lord Krishna’s chant and with a promise to be like Krishna – giving, empathetic and loving.
Workshop on Cryptography
New Delhi, August 2019: Students of Class XII attended a Workshop on ‘Cryptography’ by Ms Parul Arora, Associate Professor in Bhartiya Vidyapeeth College. Cryptography is one of the most commonly used techniques in present day virtual communication. Students got to learn about new topics and ways to encrypt and decrypt data. The Workshop was a wonderful experience and the quiz in the end made everyone more curious and inquisitive about the topic.
All the above events were adjudged by the students. It wasa good and enriching learning experience for the students.
