New Delhi, Jan 25, 2020: Special Olympics Bharat conducted a program - Mission Inclusion Bharat Youth Activation - at PHD Chamber Auditorium, Hauz Khas, on 24th and 25th January 2020, for people with and without intellectual disabilities. Apeejay School, Pitampura, performed a unified dance with 10 students from Upasana School. It was a great experience for the students and their performance was also appreciated by each one present o the occasion.

Mission Inclusion Bharat Youth Activation

New Delhi, Dec 28, 2019: The Annual Sports Day of Apeejay School, Pitampura, was held on 28th December 2019. The theme for this year’s Sports Day was ‘Fit India’ – the nationwide movement in India to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. It was launched by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on the occasion of National Sports Day.

The day started with a clarion call for all the participants & spectators announcing the beginning of the event and to extend a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Droncharya Awardee Mr Bhupinder Dhawan who holds a Sports Psychology Diploma from Spain. He has also worked as Gen-Sec of the All India Association of Dronacharya Awardees as well as the All India Gym Federation.

The Guests of Honour for the day were Major Sushant Sapra and Major Varun Rathi. Major Sushant Sapra is an alumnus of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and Major Varun Rathi was commissioned in the Indian Army in the Corps of Signals in 2011. Major Varun Rathi is also the alumunus of Apeejay School, Pitampura.

The sports flag was hoisted and the Meet was declared open by the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour.

The first event of the day was the Marchpast by the four houses, followed by the lighting of the torch and the oath taking ceremony. The Sports Captain of the School, Raghav Mittal, along with Sports Vice-Captain, Ishita Jaitley, was the sports flag bearer.

The marching contingent of Special Olympics Bharat, in association with Upasana Special School, was also present as Apeejay School, Pitampura, believes in the spirit of inclusivity and extended a warm welcome to the children of Upasana Special School.

The band group of Apeejay School, Pitampura, displayed extreme coordination and discipline, embodying the School ethics and morals. Led by Isht Kawrani, it comprised 35 extremely talented students. The inter-school track competitions, Shot Put and High Jump were held.

To add colours, there were performances by the students of the Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle and Senior Wing. There were fun races as well which also included the parents’ races.

Taekwondo, the Korean Martial Art, was an added attraction characterised by its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping & spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques. Taekwondo has been a regular part of the curriculum at the School, under the Nirbhaya scheme. The students displayed their physical strength by breaking tiles, using their hands, elbows and heads. The endurance of the students was simply astonishing.

The day concluded with the rensditionh of the School song and the lowering of the flag.

New Delhi, Dec 21, 2019: It is said there are no goodbyes till your last breath, so, on 21st Dec 2019, Apeejay School, Pitampura, held the Aashirwaad Ceremony in the amphitheater to bless the outgoing batch of Class XII (2019-20). The students bedazzled everyone as they were impeccably dressed, boys in tuxedos and girls in sarees, for the ceremony. They were welcomed by their teachers. The ceremony started with the lighting of the lamp by the School Principal, in-charges and the Class XII class teachers.

The diya lighting ceremony of all the Class XII students, seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, spread an aura of auspiciousness. Thereafter, the citations were read out by the class teachers of XII for their students which were much appreciated by the parents sitting in the audience as it expressed the journey of the child in the School. Few parents volunteered to speak and thanked the School for nurturing and grooming their kids so beautifully. Along with the citation, the Principal gave the students badges and the book ‘Reflections of Time’ written by our Founder Chairman, Late Dr Stya Paul. The Principal addressed the outgoing batch – blessing them and guiding them to do their best in every field of life, to work hard & have faith in them and never to forget the values they learnt at School.

The cultural programme was an added attraction which everyone enjoyed, especially the outgoing batch, as it showcased their 14 years’ journey at Apeejay School, Pitampura. The day came to an end as the children enjoyed dancing to the beats of the party songs and then, high tea.

New Delhi, Dec 11, 2019: As an annual feature, the School organised a Hawan and Blessings Ceremony for its Grade X and XII students to seek blessings and good wishes for the students as they prepared themselves to appear for the Board exams and the life ahead.

Students of grades X and XII received blessings from the School Principal, Vice-Principal and their teachers, wishing them well for their forthcoming examinations.
