New Delhi, Jan 18, 2020: Euphoria, the Apeejay School, Pitampura, carnival, held on 18th January 2020 was a colourful and festive occasion. The Chief Guest, Delhi’s bodybuilding champ, Mr Tarun Dutta, added a new flavour to the carnival. Humble beginnings, big dreams and an envy-inducing physique would be the best way to describe him.
Great footfall, heaps of praises & appreciation by parents, hot food, foot tapping music, talent show, parade by the tiny tots wearing colours of India, flash mob by the seniors, wow prizes for the lucky draw....the day had it all. The ‘Music on Demand’ was the most popular stall as everyone dedicated songs for their loved ones. The dedicated songs were played and everyone danced on the peppy numbers to enjoy the fun-filled evening.
Various organisations of Community Outreach Programs of the School participated in the carnival by putting up stalls, performing skits, etc. A handsome part of the amount was donated by Apeejay School, Pitampura, to an old age home.
Nursery Orientation Programme (Session 2020-21)
New Delhi, April 1, 2020: To familiarise & build a new bond with the Apeejay Stya family, an Orientation Programme for the parents of new Nursery students of session 2020-21 was organised via the online ZOOM platform on 1st April 2020, during this pandemic situation in two different sessions. These sessions gave an opportunity to both School & parents to reach out to each other in an efficient manner wherein all their inhibitions were taken care of effectively.
Orientation Programme began with the Welcome Address by Ms Kavita Vaid who further invited all to join for the prayer by Mr Sumit Verma to thank the Almighty for His blessings. She then invited the School Principal, Ms Veena Goel, to address the gathering who informed the parents about the Founder Chairman of the Apeejay Education Society, Dr Stya Paul, our present Chairperson, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, her family, Apeejay Education Society and the ethos & culture of the School. She also acquitted parents about the School’s functioning and the laurels that have been brought by the School, students and teachers till date.
Dr Sujeet Eric Masih, Vice-Principal, then informed the gathering about the technology that the School has been using artistically to reach children in the comforts of their homes. He also informed about the conducting of Zoom classes for the whole school right from Class KG to XII and classes for Nursery would come into form soon.
Following this, our Pre-Primary In-charge, Ms Sonali Chopra, addressed the parents by acquainting them about the general guidelines to be taken care of once the School starts functioning and introduced the class teachers to the parents. Nursery teachers, Ms Shailja Tyagi, Ms Vishakha Sahni and Ms Monika Bisht, gave the parents an overview of the thematic curriculum being followed in the School and how all the topics & activities of the month are incorporated according to the theme. This was followed by a Q&A session. The queries were meticulously answered by the Principal and Vice-Principal to give a clear understanding to the parents.
The Programme was concluded by the School song along with an array of slide show that showcased the School students engrossed in different activities. The Principal thanked the gathering of parents as they came together with the hope of betterment of this association for the future endeavours
Republic Day Celebration (Pre-Primary Wing)
New Delhi, Jan 24, 2020: On the morning of 24th January 2020, the students of the Pre-Primary Department (from classes Nursery B & C) celebrated Republic Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. A small group of students – Vera, Ivanya, Vedansh, Reyaansha & Diya of Class Nursery B invited the School Principal, Ms Veena Goel & Vice-Principal, Mr Sujeet Eric Masih, to attend their assembly and grace the occasion.
Ivanya Khanna & Taksh Khattar of Class Nursery B initiated the assembly by sharing their insight on Republic Day.
It was followed by an Action Song - Saare Jahan se Accha by students of Class Nursery B. The song, in addition to embodying yearning and attachment to the mother land, expressed its cultural memory.
Further, Class Nursery C students presented a dance performance on the song – Suno Gaur se Duniya Walo and filled everyone with a feeling of patriotism.
Students of Class Nursery B presented fabulous performance on the song – Phir bhi Dil hai Hindustani.
Vedika Garg took pledge to be a responsible citizen and Vera Sahai Kashyap of Class Nursery B shared her insight on the 71st Republic Day.
Further, students of Class Nursery C gave a captivating dance performance on the song – Jahan Paav main Payal…
An enthralling dance performance was also presented by the students of Class Nursery B, on the song ‘Dharti Sunehri Ambar Neela’. The lyrics of the song depicted the fervour of patriotism and an endeavor to celebrate national festivals with unity. Their synchronised actions, ethnic costumes and dedicated performance left the audience spell bound.
The entire assembly made the students aware about the golden heritage of our country and the proud feeling of being a part of India.
71st Republic Day Celebration (Main School)
New Delhi, Jan 25, 2020: Commemorating the 71st Republic Day, the Main School of Apeejay School, Pitampura, celebrated with a great sense of patriotism. The celebration started with the Flag Hoisting ceremony by the School Principal, Vice-Principal and the In-Charges.
The open auditorium reverberated with the National Anthem, awakening a sense of patriotism in everyone. It was followed by students’ speeches explaining the value of patriotism to everyone. This year, a refreshing change in the celebration was the medley of patriotic songs sung by the teachers. The medley started with the beautiful national song ‘Vande Mataram’ and ended with ‘Sare Jahan Se Accha’. The melody of the whole medley made the children join the teachers in singing, keeping the fervour of the Republic Day alive.
The celebrations concluded with everyone taking the pledge from the Preamble:
