New Delhi, February 20, 2014: The lawns of India Gate, during the ‘Delhi Police Week 2014’ reverberated to the applause of the audience as students of the Road Safety Club, Apeejay School Pitampura won the ‘Road Safety Club Trophy’ & ‘Best School of the Year 2013’ award by Delhi Traffic Police in association with SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers). The accolade was awarded by the honorable chief guest for the event, Sh. Kapil Dev, former Indian cricketer.


The school also received a cheque of Rs.15000/- as an appreciation for the plethora of activities which were undertaken during the year 2013-14 under the aegis of Road Safety Club of the school.

Road Safety Club:

An interactive session was organised by the Delhi Traffic Police on 18th February 2014 at Teen Murthy Bhawan. The objective of this session was to invite suggestions for the next year activities related to Road Safety. Mrs. Sarita Sehgal and Mrs. Shweta Kohli from Apeejay School, Pitampura along with the teachers from various schools attended this session.

As the Road Safety Club in-charge for the inter-school activities, Mrs. Sarita Sehgal was invited to give a brief report of the innovative activities conducted throughout the year. The humble submission of the research projects and the movie created by the Road Safety Club’s students of Apeejay School, Pitampura, being shortlisted among top 10 schools was applauded by the august gathering present there. Special Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tejpal appreciated the efforts and requested the school to forward useful research reports & movies for spreading awareness and inspiring other schools as well.
