New Delhi, April 9 2014: Nehru Planetarium, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, in collaboration with the Russian Center for Science and Culture, organised a presentation in the planetarium sky theater on Rakesh Sharma and Yuri Gagarin which was followed by an interaction with the Russian Science communicators, Mrs. Anastasia Khokhlova, Deputy Director (Information & Culture), RCSC.
Prajit, Chaitanya Chhabra Manan, Ritika Sethi and Shivam Shukla – students of Class IX along with Mrs. Sarita Sharma visited the Nehru Memorial Museum and library to attend a workshop. The programme was the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Rakesh Sharma’s space flight aboard, the Soyuz T-11 spacecraft, and the 53rd anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's pioneering flight. The programme was consisted of presentations, both full dome as well as conventional format, with space milestones in focus. It was a fun way of learning about space travels and the dangers of space travel. Overall, it was a good learning experience.
A presentation on Yuri Gagarin, titled ‘9 Minutes to Start’ prepared by Roskomos, was also screened which was based on the life in a space station.
