New Delhi, July 14, 2016: Students of the Astronomy Club attended the workshop on ‘Sally Ride EarthKAM’ organised by the ‘SPACE’ organisation in Apeejay School, Pitampura.

Sally Ride EarthKAM (Knowledge Acquired by Middle school) is a Science project open to school students across the globe. Students were trained to click photographs of the earth, its features & environment through the camera mounted on the ISS. It is an international project of NASA conducted in India by SPACE.

It was a great learning experience for the students.

The session aimed at teaching children how to send a request to the ISS (International Space Station) for getting an image of the earth from the satellite. The teachers told children about the astronomer, Sally Ride. Every child got three sheets and two unique codes to get the access to the camera of the ISS. Each child of the Club sent two requests of the photos from the ISS. Students received certificates of participation from the SPACE Club and also got some refreshments.
