New Delhi, Feb 20, 2020: It was a proud moment for Apeejay School, Pitampura, when three teachers from the School were honoured as National Awardees at a glittering ceremony ‘Shunya se Sashaktikaran’ National Conference & Award Ceremony at IIT Delhi, to honour teachers and education officers.

Distinguished MHRD Minister, Sh. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Sh. Prakash Javedkar took time from their busy schedule to honour 1000 teachers from 36 States /UTs. The program titled ‘ZIIEI, Zero- Investment Innovations for Education Initiatives’ is spearheaded by Sri Aurobindo Society in partnership with HDFC Bank and is now partnering with CBSE to promote interactive ways of experiential learning based on zero investment.

Teachers honoured at National Conference & Award Ceremony

Over 15 lakh ideas were collected from all over the country, out of which 1000 ideas were selected as most innovative with zero investment. 11 teachers from Delhi were selected which included 3 teachers from Apeejay School, Pitampura - Mrs Savita Panhotra presented her school idea ‘My Buddy Program’, Mrs Karuna Mishra gave her idea ‘Gaane Taraane’ and Mrs Sarita Sehgal shared her idea ‘Pithu Ka Khel’ which have now been incorporated in a booklet and shared with 1000 teachers who were a part of the program. The teachers attended a three-day felicitation and orientation program from 29th February 2020 to 2nd March 2020 at IIT Delhi and shared their ideas on the national platform. The ideas are also included in an app ‘Innovative Pathshala’ - launched on the occasion.

Sh. Anurag Thakur, MoS Finance, Ashima Bhat, Group Head HDFC, Mr Pratap Chandra Sarangi and several eminent dignitaries from NCERT, and IAS officers addressed the teachers in the three-day national conference.

The teachers feel proud to be associated with Apeejay School, Pitampura, which gave them a platform to be acknowledged on a national level.
