Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
We believe that regardless of our students’ aspirations, a strong foundation in STEM is required at every stage. We go well beyond the standard curriculum in focusing on Math, Science, and learning to Code. We inspire students to explore the world around them! Through STEM activities our students develop healthy dose of curiosity and creativity. We understand many of our students are well beyond their peers in certain STEM subjects and we are happy to give them additional assignments and out-of-class credits that reward them for their level of learning while at the same time helping them push boundaries and grow. Students have additional options (via our value-added education programs) of joining special classes and one on one tutoring for Olympiads, Science Competitions, or exploring STEM interests such as Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
Integrated Learning Management System
Built on top of the world-famous Moodle platform our learning management system allows close coordination between educators, students and parents to ensure targeted learning outcomes. Whether it is a recap of what is discussed in class, posting and reviewing of assignments, forum and quizzes, exams, or inline videos and animations – all of it is available in a single learning resource centre. Yes – it is available on your preferred mobile platform as well.
- Apeejay has spent years investing in cloud computing, teacher training, and next-generation learning technologies. We made programming mandatory in the 1990s, put a computer in every classroom in the early 2000s and went 100% on the cloud for our backend by 2010.
- Coding has been mandatory for all Apeejay Students since the 1990s. Our teachers write many of our books, and we go well beyond the basics for most grades. Coding is in an essential skill for the 21st century, but we see it more than that.
- Under Covid-19 within a few days, we were able to deliver a fully virtual experience to more than 35,000 students and stakeholders, extending our existing technology platforms.
- Learning programming languages is a journey that educates our students on logic, reasoning, mathematics, structured thinking, and offers them a new world in which to express themselves.
- By understanding not only how to use technology, but how it works, and how to create it, they move from consumers of the 21st century to its creators.
- With coding as a base, our students further learn skills in visualization, creativity, design thinking, and problem-solving as they apply coding to real-world challenges and social issues.
- For those students who have never coded before we help them adapt through additional classes to bring them up to the level of their pears.
