A Workshop was conducted by Expressions India on Peer Education in the School auditorium for students. Ms. Aprajita and Ms. Akansha, along with the group of Fine Peer Educators, conducted the session. The session was organised in a mobile bus which had posters of gender sensitisation, life skills, etc. Students were made to sit in the mobility bus and were shown several video clips to generate awareness about the challenges of growing up as a teenager.


Tagore International School,Vasant Vihar, organised the Annual Leadership Summit ‘LED ON - Leaders of Tomorrow, Meet Today’. The theme of the event was ‘Excellence, Engagement & Ethics’. It was attended by the Head Boy- Anand Singh Rana and the Head Girl – Poorva Chaudhary.

Gargi College, in association with the Royal Society of Chemistry, London, North India Local Session, organised the Yusuf Hamied Inspirational Chemistry Programme as a part of their Golden Jubilee Celebration. This Programme aimed to develop the knowledge and skills of Chemistry teachers to make them a Teacher Developer. There were three workshops:

  • Moving towards active learning
  • Chemical reactions and equations
  • The practice nature of matter

The resource person of the Workshop was Dr. Vimla Oak. Ms. Swati Lohani of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park attended the Workshop.


“Each new discovery is a small step towards the betterment of humankind” – rightly said by Dr. Tapan Misra, Director of Space application Centre at ISRO. In continuation of the World Space Week celebration as declared by United Nations, SPACE Technology and Education along with the Embassy of the United States collaboratively organised an interactive session for high school and college students at the American Centre with some of the eminent speakers and representatives from ISRO and NASA at the American Centre, Delhi. Two students of the Astronomy Club, Aryaman Jaiman and Akshmit Dewan, got the opportunity to attend the session along with Ms. Sangeeta Das, Asst. Club Coordinator. The session was based on NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar), a collaborative satellite designed by NASA and ISRO to observe and take measurements of some of the planet’s most complex processes including ecosystem disturbances, ice-sheets collapse, and natural hazards such as earthquakes, Tsunamis, volcanoes and landslides. Dr. Sanghamitra Dutta, a scientist and project officer at NASA, talked about the ongoing and upcoming missions of NASA and how NASA is providing data for free to all users worldwide. The students were encouraged to ask questions and join space related programmes at the school level.

The Fortis Institute conducted a workshop on ‘Gender Sensitisation’ for students of classes IX & XI. Gender sensitization refers to the modification of behaviour by raising awareness of gender equality concerns. The same goal was achieved by conducting various sensitization campaigns, workshops, programmes, etc. Two students, along with Mrs. Sarika Sharma, attended the workshop.


A workshop on ‘A discourse on Fair Start for Every Child’ was organised by Ms. Priyanka Chopra at the Imperial Hotel. Mr. Louis Georges Arsenault, Unicef representative to India, talked about deprived children and need for adolescent participation in overcoming this problem. It was attended by Dr. Sunita Roy and few students.


A workshop on ‘Meditation and Mind Management’ by Vishvas Foundation – for complete mind & body fitness and balance was organised for students of Classes VI & IX in the School auditorium.


The Annual Adolescent Peer Educators – ‘Leadership Course in Life Skills & Wellbeing’ programme was organised by Expression India ‘Mind Smart – 2016’ at the National Science Centre.  All issues related with adolescent age were discussed in a public forum. Children dramatised issues like Gender Sensitization, Emotionality, Physical Changes, Social – Emotional changes, Peer Pressure, Family-adolescent relationships and their highest hopes & deepest fears. Prof. Saroj Yadav (NCERT), Prof. JL Pandey, Ms. Amita Wattal (Principal, Springdale School) and Mr. Siva Ram (Sr. Consultant, UNICEF) were the eminent guests and shared their views on the programme. Five school prefects along with Mrs. Shruti Pandey attended the workshop.

Esteemed delegates from the University of Wolverhampton organised a workshop for students of classes of XI & XII. Among the delegates were Prof. Geoff Layer, Vice Chancellor, Wolverhampton University; Ms. Claire Shaw, Head of Alumni Development; Ms. Gittens, Director, International; Mr. Pragyta Singh, Regional Head-South Asia & Mr. Daniel Wein Wright, Political Editor. They introduced their university through an audio-visual presentation and a talk which featured information about various courses offered in the university. The queries of students were answered through an interactive session. Dr. V.S Garg, Educational Advisor, Apeejay Education proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The school organised a workshop for the parents of students studying in Class IX and X. The purpose of this workshop was to apprise the parents with the latest changes in examinations as per the circulars received from the CBSE.

A live telecast of an interactive session on ‘Introduction of Four Year Course in Delhi University’ was organised at SRCC by CNN IBN. 15 students of Class XII attended the session.

A panel discussion on Justice J.S. Verma Committee was held at the PHD Chamber of Commerce. The key note speakers were Dr. Kiran Bedi; Hon'ble Justice, Mr. A.K. Sikri, from the Supreme Court of India. It was attended by Ms. Sarita Pande, Vice Principal and 15 girls from classes XI & XII.

A seminar on ‘Nanotechnology & its use in Medicine’ was organised at the Vasant Valley School. 5 students of Class XI attended the seminar.

The resource person was Dr. Kalpana Bhargava, Division Head, Peptides and Proteomies, DRDO, Govt. of India.

‘Inspire Internship Programme’ was organised by Deshbandhu College, Kalkaji. The five-day programme was held to promote scientific temperament amongst the students. It was attended by 13 students, along with Mrs. Upasana Chopra, Ms. Anuradha Sen, Sujata Singh and Ranajana Bhardwaj.
