The Inaugural function of Apeejay Stya University

The Inaugural function of Apeejay Stya University was held at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, on 28-05-2010. It was inaugurated by our revered Chairman Late Dr. Stya Paul, in the presence of Principals, Vice Principals and Academic Coordinators of all Apeejay Institutions.

Founder Day Celebrations

We celebrated the birthday of our Late Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul, on the 4th of October, 2010. Revered Dr. Stya Paul, who left for his heavenly abode this year, was fondly remembered on this special day. The teachers and students paid homage to a person extraordinaire whose illustrious life and ideal personality was well conveyed in a message by President, Apeejay Education, Mrs. Sushma Berlia.

School Principal, Mr. A.P. Sharma paid rich tributes to the departed soul and in his address reiterated the ideals of the great philanthropist and a true Karmyogi whose infringing belief in hard-work, fearlessness, integrity and honesty made him what he emphatically believed in ‘Be a Man’. The “Dr. Stya Paul Award for Human values” was conferred upon well deserving students - Shradha V. Kumar (VII), Prerna Deep (X) and Vishakha Bhanot (XI). Soul stirring bhajans rendered by the senior school choir and Ram Dhun by tiny tots of the Pre- Primary retained the solemnity and sanctity of this auspicious day. ‘Reflections in Time,’ compiled by Late Dr. Stya Paul, was distributed amongst the students as a befitting tribute to an exemplary visionary.

Annual Appreciation Day 2

The senior school Annual Appreciation Day was held on 29th December 2010. The cultural extravaganza was lauded by the honourable Chief Guest, Prof.V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice Chancellor IGNOU, Mr. V.S.Garg, Education advisor, Apeejay Education, and other dignitaries.. In his address, Prof. Pillai reiterated the Iimportance of imbibing Gandhiji’s ideas on education and said that education was learning for life, learning through life and learning throughout life. Mr. A.P. Sharma, School Principal, presented the school annual report and exhorted the students to continue in their endeavours to reach even greater heights of excellence. Udaan, a dance drama depicting the flight of a child to take his own direction in life, with a strong sense of values and ethics imbibed at home and school, mesmerized one and all. It was followed by a scintillating Bharatnatyam performance and a joyful folk dance medley. The sonorous orchestra and the foot tapping numbers of the English choir enthralled the audience.

Annual Sports Day

Umang … The spirit of Togetherness” was held on the 29th of January, 2011. Mahabali Satpal Singh, Addl. Director of Education (Sports), and Dr. Aditya Arya, I.P.S. Spl. Commissioner of Police, graced the occasion as our eminent guests. The Sports Day was formally declared open by Mahabali Satpal Singh. In his address, Satpalji underscored the importance of sports for the holistic growth of a child.

Dr. Aditya Arya, in his erudite address, urged the parents to inculcate healthy food habits in their wards. The school magazine,” Soaring Pinnacle,” was released in the presence of the eminent guests. The Meet took off with the Best Sportspersons of the Year, Ridhi Soni and Sarthak Gandhi, carrying the Torch of Peace into the sporting arena.

The March Past by the N.C.C. cadets and the contingents of the four Houses- Akbar, Ashoka, Tagore and Vivekananda-displayed a high sense of discipline and togetherness. The School Band’s presentation reflected a perfect symphony of percussions and bagpipes. The field exercises- Hoopla Drill, Yoga, Skating, Disc Drill, Pyramids, Bhangra, Umbrella Drill and Artistic Football – were executed with perfect precision, acumen and coordination by the students.. An Inter-Apeejay relay race reflected the spirit of togetherness of the meet.. The breathtaking Grand Finale, depicting unity and prosperity, left the 4000 strong crowd spellbound.. The Sports Day was formally declared closed by our eminent guest Dr. Aditya Arya.

The French language department organized FRANCOMANIA on 16th December 2010. The chief objective of this programme was to raise levels of awareness about the French Language, the culture and the society among the students. 74 participants from sister Apeejay Schools of Delhi and NCR actively participated in the events: Quiz, Solo song and Recitation. Prizes were given away to the winners. A documentary on French culture was shown to the students. Madame Chantal Prost, Attachee de Cooperation pour le francais secteur linguistigue et educatif, New Delhi, was the chief guest. She was impressed by this initiative to promote French Language, which is the medium of communication in more than 50 countries.
