E-Celebrations of World Health Day
Noida, April 7, 2021: Students and teachers of the Primary and Pre-Primary Departments celebrated ‘World Health Day’ via the Zoom platform on April 07, 2021. The objective of the celebration was to raise awareness of health and a healthy lifestyle among the students.
A talk on the topic 'Health for All' was given by the science teachers of the Pre-Primary Department highlighting the theme for 2021 - ‘Building a Fairer, Healthier World’. The Primary Department organised a plethora of activities like recitation, story narration, and salad making to sensitise the students on good health and good eating habits.
Students were sensitised to drink a sufficient amount of water and eat fruits & vegetables daily. A few healthy habits were discussed in class such as washing hands before and after eating food, brushing twice a day, playing games, sleeping on time, taking bath daily, wearing clean clothes, keeping the surroundings clean, etc. Students were also sensitised to take preventive actions against the spread of the respiratory virus, including washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoiding close contact with people who are sick, and using a mask when going out.
In an endeavour to inculcate healthy eating habits among the young learners, a small video was shown which emphasised the importance of sports and exercises in our daily life. The students pledged to keep their minds and body healthy.
E-Orientation Programme for Students Session 2021-22
Noida, April 03, 2021: Apeejay School, NOIDA organised an e-Orientation Programme on Saturday, April 03, 2021, on the Zoom portal for the students of Nursery and KG. It was organised before the commencement of the new academic session 2021-22.
The 40 minutes session was initiated to familiarise the parents and students with their class teachers and the curriculum. Around 215 students and their parents participated in the session. The previous year’s class teacher visited the students to introduce the new class teacher. The session started with morning prayer. It was followed by an interactive session of teachers with students. The students were introduced to their classmates. Parents were informed about the Newsletter ‘SPARKS’ which has the Monthly Planner. The Weekly Time Table with ELOs, E-class Activities, Evening Enrichment Classes, PTM, Moodle, and the Modules on Moodle was the other areas of discussion. Also, the queries of the parents were answered by the teachers. The teachers shared their contact numbers with the parents.
Teachers took the parents and students on a virtual tour of the School through a video. They were introduced to the School Principal, Mr. A.K. Sharma. The Pre-Primary In-charge, Mrs. Shailla Shahi, visited all the sections to interact with the students and their parents. Storytelling and singing of rhymes were organised for the day. It was an interactive and enriching session for everyone.
E-Orientation for Parents of Newly Admitted Students (Session 2021-22)
Noida, April 1, 2021: An E-Orientation session was organised over a Zoom webinar for the parents of newly admitted students in Nursery to Class IX. This program was initiated to familiarise the parents with the ethos and values of the institution.
The program was graced by Senior Education Officer, Shri. NN Nayyar, School Principal, Mr. AK Sharma, Vice Principal, Mrs. Amrita Hajela, Primary In-charge, Mrs. Smriti Samuel, Pre-Primary In-charge, Mrs. Shailla Shahi and HOD-Computer Science, Mrs. Sujata Bhardwaj. The guest speaker for the day was Dr. Kanika K Ahuja, Educational Psychologist and Associate Professor at LSR.
Sh. NN Nayyar and Mr AK Sharma paid floral tribute to the beloved Founder Chairman, Late Dr. Stya Paul ji. The lamp lighting ceremony illumined the light of knowledge and wisdom, dispelling the darkness of ignorance. This was followed by an invocation dance by the students of the Primary Wing.
Vice Principal, Mrs. Amrita Hajela welcomed the guests and the newly inducted parents to the academic session. Shri NN Nayyar introduced the Apeejay fraternity and spoke about Dr. Stya Paul and his onerous journey of laying the foundation of the Apeejay Education as a leading educational body of the country. He also enumerated the numerous achievements of Dr Stya Paul’s daughter and Chairman of the Apeejay Education, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia. He spoke about the illustrious legacy of Apeejay Schools carefully carried forward under the able leadership of Mrs Berlia. He spoke about the USP of Apeejay Schools, i.e. value-based learning. His address was beautifully interspersed with anecdotes from real life. He praised the teaching faculty, their efforts, and contribution towards nation-building and man-making. He gave an insight into Apeejay’s vision of educational excellence & positive parenting and how Apeejay is standing on the tenets of the futuristic NEP -2020.
Mr. AK Sharma thanked the parents for entrusting the School with the educational journey of their children, among other things.
The Guest Speaker, Dr. Kanika K Ahuja, Educational Psychologist and Associate Professor at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, gave a thought-provoking presentation on parenting during COVID-19. The presentation encompassed the challenges faced by the parents during the pandemic situation and the ways to combat them. A question/ answer round followed the presentation whereby all the queries posed by parents were answered by Dr. Kanika.
Mrs. Sujata Bhardwaj, HOD, Computer Science, familiarised the audience with the digital learning tool, Moodle – Online learning management system.
The session ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the Primary In-charge, Mrs. Smriti Samuel, followed by the National Anthem. The E-Orientation was appreciated by the parents as a joint partnership of 14 years between the parents and the school was initiated.
Online Celebration of Annual Graduation Day for Kindergarten
Noida, March 10, 2021: Apeejay School, NOIDA celebrated its first-ever virtual Graduation Day for the students of KG A to F with much grandeur and gaiety on the Zoom platform from 3rd to 10th March 2021. It was an endeavour to appreciate and motivate students for their splendid achievements during the academic year 2020-21.
The grandparents, parents, and guests were formally welcomed by the Vice Principal, Mrs. Amrita Hajela. In her address, she applauded the efforts of the parents and appreciated their constant support during this difficult time which helped School in achieving all its endeavors successfully. She also complimented the hard work of teachers under the able guidance of In-charge, Mrs. Shailla Shahi. She also congratulated students for their achievements in the session 2020-21 and also for graduating from Class KG to Class I.
Pre-Primary In-charge, Mrs. Shailla Shahi apprised the august gathering with the activities during the academic session 2020-21. She blessed the students to scale higher peaks of excellence following the School's motto 'Soaring High is My Nature.' She further said that the School is committed to impart value-based experiential learning for developing lifelong skills in students.
E-certificates and E-trophies were awarded to students for excelling in scholastic and co-scholastic activities.
Students presented dances with full enthusiasm which captivated the audience. The budding orators recited poems and narrated stories conveying social messages. The guests were impressed with the graceful dances performed by the students.
The grand show concluded with the 'Vote of Thanks' proposed by students of KG that was followed by the National Anthem.
