Noida, June 21, 2020:In keeping with this year’s theme ‘Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family’, the School celebrated the 6th International Yoga Day via the online platform ‘Zoom’. The event saw an overwhelming participation from students, parents and teachers.

The program began with offering prayer to the Almighty, followed by a brief warm up. The enthusiastic gathering performed various Yoga asanas under the tutelage and guidance of the Yoga teacher, MsSavita Gupta. Step by step instructions were given for each asana along with their benefits to allow participants to consciously experience all the Yoga asanas. A video demonstrating various Yoga poses was also presented by the students.

The School Principal, Mr AK Sharma, briefed the participants about the benefits of Yoga and how it enhances our quest for a healthier life. He also emphasised the need to make Yoga an integral part of daily routine to boost our immunity, strength and vigour.

The event concluded with the Vice-Principal, Ms Amrita Hajela complimenting the teachers, parents and students for their keen and enthusiastic participation.

Noida, June 20, 2020: An E-Orientation Programme, for the parents of the new entrants (from Class Nursery to Class XI), was organised by Apeejay School, Noida on Saturday, June 20, 2020 to orient the parents with the mission and vision of the School. It also aimed to help them understand the ethos of the School and become partners in education and our endeavours.

184 participants attended this Webinar. It commenced on an auspicious note by offering a prayer to the Lord Almighty.

Gracing the occasion were Dr V.S. Garg, Educational Advisor, Apeejay Education Society and Resource Person Professor (Ms) Namita Ranganathan, eminent psychologist from the Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi.

In the welcome address, School Principal, Mr AK Sharma, spoke of the high standards of educational excellence that the School is known for. He affirmed that the philosophical foundation of the School was firmly rooted in the vision of the Founder Chairman, Dr Stya Paul ji who believed that education should focus on man-making and nation building. Apprising the parents on ‘Apeejay’s Vision of Educational Excellence and Positive Parenting’, Dr VS Garg emphasised the importance of inculcating, imbibing and internalizing human values in children. He reminded the parents that each child is unique and is endowed with different potential and talent which needed to be unearthed and nurtured accordingly.

This inspiring session was followed by an interactive session conducted by Professor (Ms) Namita Ranganathan who demystified the concept of ‘New-Normal in School Education’ owing to the COVID-19 crisis and subsequent lockdown. She enumerated strategies for parents and teachers to improve the happiness quotient among children in the ‘Home is New School’. She encouraged the parents to act as mentors, counsellors and facilitators for their wards and appreciate the difference between Home-schooling and Schooling from Home. In an interactive Q&A session, Prof Ranganathan answered queries raised by the parents, giving them valuable suggestions and advice.

The Webinar concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the School’s Vice-Principal, Mrs Amrita Hajela.
