Noida, Dec 24, 2020: Apeejay School, Noida celebrated its first-ever virtual Annual Day with much grandeur and gaiety on December 24, 2020, on the Zoom portal. The School acknowledged and appreciated the remarkable achievements and efforts of the students in both scholastic & co-scholastic areas. The event was one of the many feats achieved by the School this year, showcasing its leadership in E-learning during the pandemic and its perennial commitment to improvise and adapt. The guests were welcomed by the scintillating, symphonious notes of the School Orchestra and Christmas carols.

The program was presided over by Shri Aditya Berlia, Co-Promoter, Apeejay Stya & Svrán Group, and Co-Founder & Pro-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University. The esteemed Chief Guest for the evening was Shri Brajesh Pathak, Honourable Minister of Legislative, Justice, Rural Engineering Services, Government of Uttar Pradesh, while Smt. Malini Awasthi, Padma Shri, and renowned Indian Folk Singer graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. A galaxy of dignitaries and distinguished members of Apeejay Education also graced the occasion. The event commenced with a floral tribute to our revered Founder Chairman of Apeejay Education, Dr Stya Paul ji, followed by the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the Invocation Dance. Principal, Mr AK Sharma, accorded a heartfelt welcome to the guests. In his address, he looked up to the visionary guidance and blessings of the Founder Chairman and Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Education. He reiterated that education aims to create responsible & conscious citizens. He observed that the School successfully embraced the ‘New Normal’ and seamlessly adapted to the virtual platform so that learning continued uninterrupted. He praised the collaborative spirit between the Management, staff, students, and parents that empowered the School to continue its march towards quality education during the lockdown.

Mr Aditya Berlia, in his inspiring speech, appreciated the perseverance, determination, and resilience of students, parents, and staff in carving out an incredibly successful academic year. He reaffirmed Appejay Education’s vision to create intellectual and inspired world leaders. He also looked forward to the pivotal and lead role that Apeejay Schools would play in the implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He lauded the efforts of the diligent faculty and the motivated students who worked in tandem to make a difficult year a resounding success.

The Principal then presented the Annual School Report chronicling the School’s outstanding achievements which were followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony wherein the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour felicitated the meritorious students for excellence in academics and co-curricular arenas for the session 2019-20. The Chief Guest commended the ceaseless efforts of the Management and the School in continuing to provide quality education to the students during these difficult times. He also made a special mention of Apeejay School, Noida being synonymous with value-based education. The Guest of Honour expressed her immense delight in being part of the exhilarating experience. She reminded the students through her soulful rendition of a traditional ‘sohar’, the virtue of working for the larger good.

The presence of proud, illustrious alumni - Dr Abhinav Bhanot, HOD and Senior Consultant, Radix Healthcare, Nirman Vihar, Delhi, and Mr Kaushik Mani, General Manager, Amazon Key for Business, added nostalgia to the entire ceremony. They expressed their gratitude to their alma mater and urged the students to uphold the School motto ‘Soaring High is My Nature’ and follow their passion. The highlight of the evening was the dance drama – ‘Indradhanush - The Palette of Life’ which captured the myriad hues of human emotions, exemplified by each colour of the vibrant and magnificent rainbow. It was a beautiful rainbow of dances and enactments by students of classes Nursery to XI.

After a breathtaking grand finale, the event concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the School Vice-Principal, Ms Amrita Hajela. The guests and parents were highly appreciative of the performance of the students and the School for putting together a spectacular event.

Noida, October 6, 2020: Apeejay School, Noida, organised various activities aimed at raising public awareness about traffic rules and reducing the number of road accidents that occur daily. These included poster making, slogan writing, essay writing, poem recitation, and presentations, to name a few. The students made informative posters reiterating the importance of road safety, depicting the relevance of following road safety SOPs which can save so many innocent lives. Being the torchbearers of this nation, the students also pledged to follow these rules & regulations and also to encourage their elders to do the same.

Teachers addressed the students and encouraged them to learn through video presentations. They were engaged in discussions on issues of rash driving, drunk driving, and road rage with a special mention about minor driving. They also discussed the immediate causes and traumatic effects of the impulsive behaviour of people on roads. The importance of obeying rules while travelling on roads and the rules for the pedestrians were also highlighted.

These activities aimed to develop empathy and sensitivity about road safety and not to take it for granted. It also helped in shaping the right attitude of the students towards following road signs and rules, thereby ensuring that they become responsible passengers, cyclists, and pedestrians themselves.

Students participated very enthusiastically in the interactive sessions held during these activities. It was a remarkable effort to sensitize young learners on a topic of social relevance.
