Noida, September 12, 2020: The Investiture Ceremony holds a significant and crucial place in the school calendar. It is an occasion to recognise and felicitate the young, emerging leaders of tomorrow and invest them with responsibilities of upholding the strong values that the school lives by.
Apeejay School, Noida, has always believed in inculcating and fostering a sense of responsibility and commitment among its students. In keeping with this ethos, the school organised the Investiture Ceremony for the Primary, Middle and Senior Departments for the academic year 2020-21, on Saturday, September 12, 2020 via the Zoom portal.
Brigadier Salil Sharma (Rtd.), recipient of the prestigious Vishishta Sewa Medal, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. An inspiring personality, who has been awarded the Army Commander’s Commendation twice, for his distinguished service to the Indian Army, Brigadier Salil Sharma (Rtd.) was selected for United Nation’s Peace Keeping Mission. He has also been decorated with the very prestigious Force Commander’s Commendation for his outstanding services.
The programme commenced with a graceful Invocation Dance, followed by a formal address by the School Principal, Mr AK Sharma, who accorded a warm welcome to the distinguished Chief Guest. He also bid a cordial welcome to the In-charges, parents and students. The Principal also administered Oath of Office to the newly appointed members of the Prefectorial Board who pledged to preserve, protect and defend the dignity and honour of the School.
As the ceremony was conducted virtually, all members of the Prefectorial Board (2020-21) were introduced virtually with their photographs and designations.
A mesmerizing musical performance filled the morning as the Senior Prefectorial Board members took oath to serve their office whole-heartedly, with passion and diligence. The outgoing Head Girl, Aanya Singhal bid a sentimental adieu to the school and passed on the baton of responsibility to the School Head Boy, Nirmalya Nath and Head Girl, Anushka Singhal.
The distinguished Chief Guest congratulated the newly inducted office bearers and applauded the confidence and focus displayed by each student. He shared inspiring anecdotes drawn from his long and illustrious career and restated that there is a leader latent in each one of us - students must never lose sight of their goals and deliver their duties with complete honesty and integrity.
It was a proud moment for all the parents as they witnessed their children being conferred upon with great responsibilities while embarking on a new journey as leaders.
The Vice Head Girl, Samriddhi Sehgal, proposed the Vote of Thanks, followed by the rendition of the School Song.
Thus, as the event concluded, the solemn promise of the new torch-bearers, beaming with hope and enthusiasm to prove themselves as responsible administrators, resonated through the air.
International Yoga Day Celebration
Noida, June 21, 2020:In keeping with this year’s theme ‘Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family’, the School celebrated the 6th International Yoga Day via the online platform ‘Zoom’. The event saw an overwhelming participation from students, parents and teachers.
The program began with offering prayer to the Almighty, followed by a brief warm up. The enthusiastic gathering performed various Yoga asanas under the tutelage and guidance of the Yoga teacher, MsSavita Gupta. Step by step instructions were given for each asana along with their benefits to allow participants to consciously experience all the Yoga asanas. A video demonstrating various Yoga poses was also presented by the students.
The School Principal, Mr AK Sharma, briefed the participants about the benefits of Yoga and how it enhances our quest for a healthier life. He also emphasised the need to make Yoga an integral part of daily routine to boost our immunity, strength and vigour.
The event concluded with the Vice-Principal, Ms Amrita Hajela complimenting the teachers, parents and students for their keen and enthusiastic participation.
