Educational Excursion to National Museum
Delhi, May 09, 2019: Education today cannot be confined to the four walls of the classroom as children learn most effectively from their environment. With this view in mind, an educational trip to the National Museum was organised for the students of Class V on May 09, 2019.
182 enthusiastic students reached the reception area of the National Museum wherein they were given an introduction to the exhibits in the Museum – divided into 12 exhibits namely Archaeology, Harappan Civilisation, Paintings, Decorative Arts , Manuscripts and Prehistory, to name a few. The students took a detailed tour of the exhibits and each aspect & nuance of the exhibit was explained thoroughly. The heritage walk aimed to strengthen the skills related to social science and reinstate our belief in the rich cultural heritage of India.
Inter-House Folk Dance Competition
Noida, May 08, 2019: It is said that India is one of the richest countries when it comes to cultural heritage. Indians celebrate this diversity in the form of its many states with their different climates, languages, attires, lifestyles, food habits and tales. All these factors are aptly reflected in the unique music and dance forms of the Indian states. Indian Folk Dance is a wonder, a pleasure and a timeless treasure.
In consonance with these thoughts, the Primary Department of Apeejay School, Noida, hosted an Inter-House Folk Dance Competition on May 08, 2019.
As part of the ongoing celebrations of International Dance Day, students of Nehru House, Gandhi House, Tagore House and Radhakrishnan House presented folk dances from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab and Haryana respectively. Students moved to the rhythmic beats of Garba, Kohli, Bhangra and Dhamal.
The auditorium resonated with the cheers for the young performers. The programme was adjudged by Ms Richa Jain, a Kathak maestro and Ms Meenal Bhardwaj Pathak, a renowned Zumba instructor.
The judges were appreciative of the dance performances. The results for the Competition were as follows:
