Noida, Dec. 5, 2016: Vidya Kala Mandir conducted a Workshop for the students of classes I to V on the art of paper cutting and folding. The resource person for the Workshop, Mr. Sanjith Rai, showcased various methods by which a strip of paper can be transformed into beautiful flowers, streamers, lamps, birds, decorative hangings, etc. The students were excited and enthralled at the beauty of the craft of paper cutting and folding. This craft offers a dramatic aesthetic effect whereby the students learnt the fundamental techniques and tricks for creating lovely artwork with only a craft scissor and paper. It was an enriching experience.

Noida, November 26, 2016: Apeejay School, Noida grounds were converted into a ‘Karmabhoomi’ for the students to showcase their physical attributes and skills as the School celebrated its Annual Sports Day on November 26, 2016.

The School Principal, Mr. S.C. Tiwari welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr. N.P. Singh, IAS, District Magistrate, G.B. Nagar, Guest of Honour, Arjuna Awardee, Mr. Manoj Kumar (pugilist), Dr. Neha Berlia, Member, Management Board of the Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, eminent personalities from Apeejay Education Society, Principals from Apeejay schools and enthusiastic & zealous parents. A floral welcome was accorded to the galaxy of dignitaries present on the occasion. He introduced the guests and extended a warm welcome to all the guests. He also thanked the parents for their constant support in all the endeavours of the School.

An impressive march-past by the Four Houses of the School set the mood for the day. The march-past was judged by the team of five headed by Major Avijeet Thakur for the best turn out and performance. Gandhi House was adjudged as the winner. The Chief Guest declared the meet open, blessed the participants and spoke on the importance of these events in a student’s life. He emphasised the role of girls in a society.

Apeejay School, Noida boasts of a well-trained band contingent. The performance of the Band was highly appreciated by the spectators present in the sprawling grounds of the School. The ground broke into the rhapsody of colours and music when the little ones took over the arena to perform Smiley Sparkles, La-Magie, Li’L Champs, Blooming Blossoms and many more. Exuberant parents could be seen clicking pictures to capture these memorable moments. Equally impressive were the performances of Yogis and Lezim performers. Temperatures raced high as the young racers and athletes hurried to the finishing line securing their positions on the Winners’ Stand. The ‘pyramid formation’ displayed the amalgamation of perfect balance and harmony.

Prizes were given away by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour who were highly appreciative of the efforts put in by the participants. The highlight of the event was the Blood Donation Camp put up by the members of the Interact Club, a noble campaign initiated for the noble cause and an endeavour to promote holistic development towards humanitarian needs of the society.

The programme came to a close as the ground vibrated with the exuberance of the grand finale. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the School Vice-Principal, Mrs. Amrita Hajela.
