A celebration in the form of special assemblies is an effort to sensitize students towards living in harmony in a diverse society. They are taught to learn to use their thinking ability and skills to work for a safe and better world and to live in harmony with their fellow beings.
Baisakhi and Ram Navmi, Earth Day, Mothers Day, Doctors Day, Grand Parents Day, Raksha Bandhan, Independence Day, Janamashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, Eid-ul-Fitr, Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, Dussehra, World Food Day, Diwali, Guruparv, Children's Day, Christmas, Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Pongal, Republic Day, Basant Panchami, Martyr's Day, Maha Shiv Ratri were all celebrated with great enthusiasm.
Ram Navami Celebration
Noida, April 20, 2021: The students of the Primary Department of Apeejay School, NOIDA, celebrated the festival of ‘Ram Navami’ with great festive fervour via a Zoom session.
Ram Navami is celebrated on the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri. This special day is celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Ram, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu.
The celebrations began with an informative talk presented by a teacher, whereby the significance of the festival that marks the descent of Vishnu avatar of Lord Ram on earth was highlighted.
The students also joined in the singing of the devotional song ‘Hum Katha Sunate Shri Ram Ki’ - a recital that apprised all about the victory of goodness on the evil and the establishment of the Dharma to beat the Adharma.
The celebrations commemorated a spiritual awakening and established the arrival of divine power on the earth synonymous with a period of peace and prosperity.
Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration
Noida, April 15, 2021: The Primary Department of Apeejay School, NOIDA felicitated the memory and life of Dr. B R Ambedkar on his birthday, via a virtual Zoom celebration on April 15, 2021. The teachers emphasised the values and virtues of the teachings of Dr. Ambedkar and his life.
Ambedkar's legacy as a socio-political reformer had a deep effect on modern India. His initiatives towards influencing various spheres of life and transforming the way India today looks at socio-economic policies and education were reiterated.
The morning assembly commenced with an informative talk and thought listing the contributions of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar for the people of India. The fact that he was the ‘Father of the Indian Constitution’ and a social rights activist was highlighted. Students paid tribute to the great leader and the ‘Architect of the Indian Constitution’ who was born on 14th April 1891.
A video was shown on the life of Babasaheb Ambedkar to the students and a song, recorded specially for this occasion, was played across all classes. Overall, it was an enriching experience for all and reiterated our belief in ‘Unity in Diversity’.
