Workshop on Enhancing English Language Proficiency
A workshop for English Language Teachers of Apeejay Schools of Delhi and NCR was organized on Saturday, 21st January, 2017, in Apeejay School, Pitampura.
Six English Language teachers (3 TGTs and 3 PRTs) attended the workshop. Dr. Lazer Selva, Professor in Loyola College, Chennai was the resource person. He focused on:
- Developing Speaking and Reading Skills
- Communicative Vocabulary Games.
- Exploring and Planning Reading and Writing Skills.
- Drawing up sematic nets and mind maps.
The workshop was very interactive, full of activities. The resource person emphasised on the Humanistic approach in ELT, thereby laying stress on communicative language learning, with total physical response, in a silent way and Suggestopedia. He demonstrated the art of teaching prose and poetry effectively.
Zumba Dance Workshop
Noida, Jan. 13, 2017: Good health of employees and creating a positive workforce is of prime importance to secure a healthy working environment. In line with these thoughts, Apeejay School, Noida held a Zumba Dance Workshop organised by Mrs. Sreerupa Pal, a certified Zumba trainer.
Zumba involves dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic music. The choreography incorporated Hip Hop, Soca, Samba, Salsa, Merengue and Mambo. Teachers participated enthusiastically in the Workshop and followed the Zumba steps to perfection. The related health benefits of Zumba were also internalised and appreciated by the teachers.
Team building exercises – 'Musical Chairs' and 'Tug of War' were also played well by the teachers. They showcased their team spirit and true sportsmanship.
Workshop on Anger Management
Noida, Jan. 10, 2017: The New Year 2017 started with an informative and motivating Workshop on ‘Anger Management’ which was conducted by Mr. Lucky Puchhrat for the entire staff of the School.
The Workshop started with him highlighting the causes of anger and the methods of curbing it. He discussed in detail about the behavioral patterns, hidden emotions of an individual that lead to anger. Motivational videos were also shown which helped the teachers to control and manage these issues in their day to day life.
The Workshop was an enriching experience for all present as it presented viable, relatable solutions to situations that may make an individual lose his/her composure.
